Taking the Bus (1)

When Paddy the seven-stone weakling took a job driving buses, he was a little nervous. On his first day, however, all went well; that is until the last run of the day when a huge, hulking bundle of muscles boarded the bus and growled: 'Big Joe don't pay!'
Paddy was only a third of the man's size and was in no mood to argue, so he let the man have his ride without demur.
The second day was also a dream run for Paddy -- till the last run of his shift when the hulk boarded again and said, "Big Joe don't pay!' Again, Paddy allowed the man to ride without saying anything.
However, after many weeks of this, day in and day out, Paddy was tired of being intimidated. He took a few weeks' leave, enrolled in a Mr Atlas-type body-building course, and emerged, a few weeks later, as huge and as muscular as his scary passenger. He was ready to deal with him!
So -- back to work went Paddy, and sure enough, on the last run of his first day back, the hulk appeared and growled, 'Big Joe don't pay!
Paddy stood up, matching Big Joe inch for inch up and down, across and round, and growled right back: 'And why not?'
A puzzled look crossed Big Joe's face as he pulled a card from his pocket, and he said. '' Big Joe bought a bus pass!'
